While we often look to the Summer months as a time to hang up our worries along with our rain boots Day Wave, aka Jackson Phillips, has taken the time for some inward reflection. With the ocean as his mirror the Oakland-based singer-songwriter has churned out the pensive and aptly title Headcase EP...Read More
It was roughly Spring in California when we first became acclimated with the warm sounds of Pepa Knight. We were driving through the desert plains of Joshua Tree and Palm Springs; the expansive sounds of Jinja Safari and Pepa Knight seemed to appropriately fit the landscape. Side A - Nicola churns out 'One Waster Winter' from cold, wet Sydney:
Side B - Lauren brings you 'Summer Solstice' from the Californian coastline.
If you find yourself getting a bit down listening to Nicola's depressing mix, don't worry, Lauren's summer delights are sure to cheer you right up.
And hey, if you REALLY like them, I'm sure we could be convinced in to getting out the old tape recorder...
