Her: A Change Is Gonna Come
I've had Her on my mind lately. She circles my thoughts like a needle caught in the groove of my favorite record. But this is not about a girl. I mean Her... the band. The dapper looking Parisians pictured above have been making waves with a plush minimal sound which envelopes soul and electronic influences that tickle any lover of a hot and bothered night in.
The debut album, Her Tape #1, tantalizes with guitars and lustful lyrics that beg the strap slips off the shoulder of every woman they long for. But these songs are meant to sing to a broader sense of the female aura. Victor Solf and Simon Capentier have described their work thus far stating, "The Woman does not exist, though there are women. No one woman may stand for The Woman. To say it all about her, you would need all the women in the world.”
Their latest lick and first taste off the upcoming Her Live Tape #1 continues down a similar path of sensuality, taking a page from the book of the illustrious Sam Cooke while remaining rich and original. While no shows have been announced in the U.S. our friends on the other side of the pond catch can them at one of their upcoming U.K. shows.
