Worthless: All My Friends Are Stone
One would be forgiven, after getting lost in the album artwork, for misreading the name of Worthless' latest album as "All My Friends Are Stoned". Perhaps you'd even be forgiven to suggest that more than just a bit of the old green herb may have been involved when creating this psychedelic masterpiece.
This album is alive with the spirit of the 60s, when hippies floated in meadows in their own magical hallucinogenic haze, floating dreamily through clouds of fairy dust. You can practically touch the shag rug inside the Volkswagen bus, smell the incense burning, and feel the hypnotic draw of a strange group of bohemian musicians luring you deeper in to their world.
The 17-minute "Yellowfingers" is it's own entire weird world of warped reverb, and trippy, almost intergalactic sounds. You almost need a shaman to sit alongside you as you press play, to guide you through this cavernous world of psychedelia.
