[EVENT] The Great Escape Festival
The Great Escape kicks off tomorrow in sunny ol' Brighton. The festival is Europe's leading festival for new music, comparable to South By Southwest in it's early days. For three days, a selection of grimy little underground venues, adorable cafes, studios, hotels, pubs and halls around Brighton will be packed full of up-and-coming musicians, bands, and music industry professionals from all over the world.
With over 400 emerging artists playing in 35 venues all across Brighton, as well as a bunch of panels, keynote speeches and several old friends in town, it's looking like a pretty busy weekend for me.
I'm hoping to discover a bunch of talented up-and-comers over the course of the weekend, as well as catch some of my personal picks, which I've compiled in to a playlist below.
Acts not to miss this weekend:
Alabama Shakes, Aquilo, Bad//Dreems, BROODS, Django Django, Furs, Happyness, Highs, Holy Holy, Ibeyi, Jack & Eliza, JPNSGRLS, Kelela, Låpsley, Lion Babe, Little May, Lubomyr Melnyk, M.Ø., Mapei, Mt.
