Astronauts, Etc. & Harriet Brown: Fiction
Wavering somewhere between Outkast and Prince, it's a mixture of all things 80s and 90s, but it's not from either era. It dips in to nostalgia in a similar way that Blood Orange rocks the white skivvy (turtle neck).
Brown's wobbly vocals over a deep base lead into a drum-machine beat and layers of synth. It's smooth, it's soulful, and it's making me reach for my halter-neck and glitter lipstick.
