Crash: Motion Animal
Is there anything that the ever-expansive band known as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes doesn't do? I mean, at times they remind me of Dewey Cox when he recruits a village to record his last album.
Apparently one of the lead vocalists for Edward Sharpe is cleverly named Crash. I have also just learned that Crash has pretty solid chops and has ventured into pursuing a solo project. "Motion Animal" is the first track off of his debut album Hardly Criminal. Riding on the coattails of the widespread success of Edward Sharpe would imaginably be tough to follow, although Crash proves he can stand alone with his impressive LP.
Formerly the front man of The Deadly Syndrome, the Louisiana native, Crash now lends his creamy vocals to his own band. We all know that falsetto gets me weak at the knees... well, when you splash in a bit of horn section, funk, keys, floaty guitar rhythms and sprinkle that all with a bit of New Orleans soul, than 'weak in the knees' no longer describes the feeling. You're just going to have to listen for yourself.
