[PLAYLIST] Foreign Fancies
Whenever we stay in one place for too long, we get restless. We're not just talking about sitting in strange positions, wriggling around in an office chair wanting to be outside. We mean being frustrated and wanting desperately to be somewhere more romantic and magical than wherever we are right now. Sure, call it escapism, call it fantasy, tell us we are dreamers, but we will always have this feeling, regardless of where we are.
Lately we have been craving the European charm, so much so that we have come to think we're actually European (which isn't entirely a lie). There is a certain je ne sais quoi to lands foreign from 'home'... whether that be Rio, Paris, Santorini, Valencia, Venice, Lisbon, Lima or Florence - they all encompass that enchanting feeling. Since we can't be in one of these foreign places right now (note: we are ALWAYS keen to travel, in fact our bags are already packed), we did what we do best - improvise.
Last night we transformed our home into a romantic and charming French oasis, to test out our latest playlist of music intended to transport us to exotic locations. Maybe it was the stripes, lace, (copious amounts of) red wine, baked camembert or music... but we were convinced.
Pick up the largest baguette you can find, fit yourself in stripes, grab the one you're trying to woo and have a listen. You can thank us later.
Big thanks to our friend Alec for sending us some wonderful Brazilian recommendations all the way from NOLA.
