Chet Faker: Talk Is Cheap
Chet Faker fuses together two of our favorite elements: lumberjack and soul. The term, Lumberjack Soul was first described to us by our friend, the very talented musician, Miles Bonny (someone you should most definitely check out).
Chet Faker is an Australian musician, one with a deep and resonate soul. He first caught our attention last year with his stripped-back rendition of Blackstreet's "No Diggity." An Australian male, with a beard and handsome face... singing a Blackstreet song, and doing it well; let's just say that we were reeled in. It was the collaboration with Flume, that sold us.
He is now in the process of releasing his debut solo album, which presents itself with a strong introduction through the track "Talk Is Cheap." The video was produced using stop-motion animation and highlights none other than his face, as the focal point.
While we all patently await the release, America can bask in the glory of his US Spring tour:
