[TRAVEL GUIDE] Darling Din's guide to Brooklyn
We asked Brooklyn sweethearts Darling Din to share their favourite spots in this New York burough we now call home. Be sure to catch them at our showcase on Saturday night at Arlene's Grocery, and if you're in town for CMJ, take a minute to visit one of these hidden gems:
Clinton Hill Pickles: A small, local pickle shop with 14 or so barrels of the most delicious pickles in New York.
425 Dekalb Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11205.
Midoriya: This micro Japanese grocery shop in Williamsburg stocks snacks (Men's Pocky, anyone?), green teas, Japanese cooking ingredients and ready to eat O-nigiri.
167 N 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211.
Bakeri Greenpoint: A dreamy, Norwegian-owned bakery/cafe on a quiet residential block in Greenpoint serving housemade pastries, fresh bread, coffee and sandwiches.
105 Freeman Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222.
The Emerson: A warm, Clinton Hill neighborhood bar with a big patio out back and the best bar pool table in Brooklyn.
551 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205.
Banhmigos: A tiny, 3-seat restaurant serving Vietnamese sandwiches, bubble tea, and salads. They also have a punch card (buy 9 get 1 free!).
178 Lincoln Place, Brooklyn NY 11217.
