Duquette Johnston: Dancing Song
Daniel Duquette Johnston has returned after a three year hiatus; he brings along with him a new sound on the album, Rabbit Runs a Destiny.
The beginning of "Dancing Song" follows in the vein of a slowed down version of blues-rock duo Left Lane Cruiser and the vocals are reminiscent of Lawrence Arabia; altogether this is a new sound for Johnston, one that is resonating well.
Duquette is a talented musician who has lent his musicianship to former bands, Verbena, Cutgrass and the Gum Creek Killers and has shared the stage with Delta Spirit, The Civil Wars, Bonnie ''Prince'' Billy, Centromatic, and Shovels and Rope.
"Dancing Song" is an appropriate introductory track to the style and tone of his upcoming album. The song is rich, tranquil, deep and beautiful. Duquette pours his heart and soul into his work, and it is clearly evident in this song. Enjoy.
