Musical treats from Aotearoa
I've just spent the last week in Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud, Peter Jackson's Middle Earth, or for those of you not quite as dorky as me; New Zealand. Amongst some minus 7 degree frosts, clambering up rocky hillsides, ice-skating, jumping on frozen puddles like a small child and rounding up runaway sheep, I did in fact manage to stumble across some brilliant Kiwi-born music.
There are loads of great NZ exports that you've probably heard already such as The Veils (personal favourite), Kimbra, Ladyhawke, Cut Off Your Hands, LORDE (Doing particularly well at the moment), The Naked & Famous, etc. But there are also a huge amount that haven't quite cracked the international market, or at least I'd never heard of them until now, so I've got some goodies to share with you over the next few days!
To kick it off I'll leave you with this boppy number from Aaradhna, the cute video got my foot tapping as I browsed through the in-flight entertainment on my way over (thanks Air New Zealand).
That's all for now brew.
