100 Million Nights
In another perfect fusion of art and music (of which I am ALWAYS an avid supporter, regardless of genre) Australian electronic/psychedelic duo Canyons have teamed up with Aboriginal artist Daniel Boyd to create '100 Million Nights'.
In what has been described as "an ethereal sonic and visual experience", Canyons have composed original music to accompany a new video installation by Daniel Boyd. The boys perform their composition as a 4-piece live band with Boyd's 3-panel video installation as a stage backdrop. Sounds similar to a Sigur Rós live show to me, which is always more a journey or a religious experience than a concert.
I seem to have slightly missed the boat on all of this, but hopefully they'll release more live dates soon.
In the mean time, if you're a fan of Tame Impala, you might like to have a listen to their debut album 'Keep Your Dreams' in which Kevin Parker lends some vocals on their songs 'Tonight' and 'When I See You Again' as well as featuring briefly in their video for the latter.
