Ancient River
If you like your music spacey and psychedelic (which i certainly do) then I'm sure you'll be loving this new wave of youngsters across the globe involved in the revival of these 70s inspired sounds. Bands like Tame Impala, POND, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Horrors, TOY, Temples... well you get the idea. My latest discovery are a band who aren't so much in to the shaggy hairdos and skinny jeans, although their deliciously kaleidoscopic videos may lead you to think otherwise.
Florida-born Ancient River classify their music under a variety of sub-genres including Psychedelic Rock, Garage, Grunge, Shoegaze, Stoner Rock, Folk, just to name a few. Their blend of distorted electric guitars and fuzzy vocals have that distant, dusty sound that slowly threatens to take you back to an era when Hendrix ruled atop a cloud of purple haze.
They have a '24 hour radio station' you can stream on their website which plays everything they've ever recorded, James Baretto (guitar and vocals) says it showcases the evolution of the band over time, since they formed back in 2008.
Don't ask questions, just give in to the power of the tea.
