Odessa Rose, aka Odessa Jorgensen is a singer/songstress based in Nashville by-way-of Roseville, California.
I was lucky enough to stumble across bluegrass-folk band, Bearfoot several years back at Northern California's, Worldfest. At this time, Odessa was the newest addition and lead vocalist to Bearfoot. Her lyrical talent, band leadership and soft vocals were the very components responsible for the band's new-found success; they bridged the gaps between the traditional bluegrass standards and that of the emerging folk-bluegrass movement. Their efforts allowed young musicians the accessibility to progress within the bluegrass genre.
Odessa has since left the band, worked alongside the talents of Edward Sharpe, Gill Landry, Old Crow Medicine Show & Abigail Washburn. She is an accomplished fiddle player, violinist and singer. She is currently working on new solo material and is due out with a debut album this year. Her talents have been widely recognized and we cannot wait to reap the benefits of her album. This is what we have to tide us over thus far:
